I think one of your advertisements caused my internet browser to resize, you might want to put that on your blacklist.
I found your site from wikipedia and read a few of your other blog posts. They are cool. Pls continue this great work. Later on other fantastic American rock acts such as Lynrd Skynrd, The Eagles, America, the Allman Brothers, and the Doobie Brothers would come on the scene and shake up the world with their string of hit songs.
I tried to send this to you personally, but I am unable to get through. Here is my original message: Your blog captures the essence of Boulder- eclectic and creative!
My family will be celebrating our one year in Boulder , we hauled our three little boys in a van (aka Moaning Myrtle) and drove thousands of miles to get here.
I am writing you because I have recently started a feather hair extension business, The Feathered Sparrow. I know the "trend" has already hit Boulder- but I have a unique look and style on this trend. I am "singing of song" of worth and value, you see we are considered a very low income family. Many times being labeled as such brings insecurities and a lack of hope. Sparrows were the cheapest offering, and yet they were considered valuable and significant. With this focus and love of feathers in mind, I decided to take the risk and start my own business. I fully support local eating and business, so it was important to me to buy my feathers locally. I am passionate for combining value and beauty, one feather at a time.
I wrote you with the possibility in mind that you could spread word about my dreams, and to tell others that no matter their circumstances or status they are valuable and significant.
Thank you for your time, if you would like to you can check out my website: http://thefeatheredsparrow.wordpress.com
You are one of a kind!
Hi Aimee,
As noted above – I couldn't leave a message, so my note is here in the comments:
Although I've lived in Boulder County for almost 2 yaers and have subscribed to the weekend Camera for almost as long, I had never read your column before – no interest in fashion, too many phonies in that world. BUT-
Today, I read your 'Getting Around' essay and I'm still chuckling. You are laugh-out-loud funny and I will look through your website whenever I'm down (which is quite a lot these days)…really, a sense of humor has saved me many times from totally giving up.
A good laugh is good mental health, so thanks for the boost(s)!
Your new fan,
Karen
Thank you so much, Karen!
Hi Aimee – also couldn't leave a message on the 'contact me' area.
Your column about Bob & the lamp was a lovely read! Heartwarming, well written.
Thanks –
Anne
Aw, thank you!
