Tattoo Barbie?
http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Tattoo-Barbie-Parents-In-US-Voice-Concern-Over-Message-Of-Doll-Featuring-Body-Art/Article/200903115235033

Personally, I think it’s cool and a good idea. There are much greater threats to our kids out there than tattoos, one of the most ancient forms of human physical expression on earth. To call Tattoo Barbie a threat to our children is as ridiculous as saying we should stop making temporary tattoos. They’re called “markers,” folks, and your kids will eventually get their hands on them in art class… unless you want to eliminate that, too.

Oh gosh. Oh gee.
Call me: 303-473-1359. Right now. Do it.
So I was out of the office for six weeks for a surgery. I thought I had made a temporary greeting, which would expire when I returned on Monday.
But alas.
I wondered why when I returned, I had zero voice messages, and a dozen or so messages of different people laughing. Just laughing and laughing. And calling back and laughing.
Finally, today, after yet another laugh message, I thought hmm, maybe I should check my greeting.
Apparently I did not make the greeting temporary.
Apparently I messed up while recording it and forgot to re-record.
This has been my voice message for seven weeks, and I am leaving it there for three more days, until Monday, just for your entertainment.
Enjoy.
Next week, we’re going back to proper and professional. Oh gosh.

White out
I am suddenly and inexplicably obsessed with finding a white dress. No, I am not getting married. The best reason I can come up with is it is warm this week, and I must have some subconscious belief that if I buy a white summery dress, the warmth will stay. Alas, subconscious. Colorado doesn’t play like that.
Regardless, here are a few of my faves.

Silence and Noise Jazz Age dress, $98, from Urban Outfitters.
I like the embellished bottom three ruffles. They break up the dress and make it unique.

Galaxy of Dots dress, $128, from Anthropologie.
Eyelet, ruffles, buttons and cotton — all on one dress!

Kenley Ribbon Dress, $69.99, from Guess.
I love the satin ribbon detail.

Eyelet smocked dress, $65, from Victoria’s Secret.
The empire waist looks good on so many different body types. Plus, this babydoll classic has removable straps.

As U Wish bow dres, $68, from Nordstrom.
A little ridiculous, but, in that, awesome.

Diane Von Furstenberg Hippolyte Crochet Lace Dress, $495, at Nordstrom.
I am not sure what Diane meant by “hippolyte,” but I’m guessing it’s a hybrid between hippie and socialite, which this dress epitomizes. Hello, Boulder!

I can’t stop
It’s warm. I started looking at dresses. Now I am physically incapable of working without first sharing with you one more dress.
I’d like to call this one Disco Wonder Woman, but Urban Outfitters calls it the Colorblock Ruffle Dress.

$88, www.urbanoutfitters.com

Baby, it’s warm outside
It’s getting warmer! Here is one more reason to get excited for spring: Eyelet.

Eyelet trim tunic, $19.80 at Forever 21
This dress looks so comfortable and light and feminine. Just looking at it makes me feel like I am walking barefoot down the beach.

Twitter twatter
Not to be mistaken for a teeter totter. And don’t get mad at me about the horrible word “twatter.” That is officially the proper term for “one who Twits.” According to Those Who Know Things.
That terror aside, I thought I should inform the masses that I am on Twitter: http://twitter.com/aimeemay.
Be my friend or whatever.
This is some semblance of a fashion Twitter, mostly an update on how I am dressed like a pirate or an Oompa Loompa or how this one reporter I work with wears a helmet… seriously. I do not actually know what Twitter is, what service it provides, why anyone follows it or what I am supposed to twrite (cq) on Twitter, so anyone who can mentor me on that field is greatly encouraged to step up.
On the modern technology front, just a reminder to be my Myspace (sounds redundant) friend at www.myspace.com/boulderbeautiful. This is a good way to send me your story pitches, because there is a greater chance I will respond favorably to a pitch disguised as friendly bantor with a catchy profile song.
I don’t have a work-related Facebook yet because I have no idea how to work Facebook (can you say overstimulation? What are all of those applications? Update overload ahhhhh!) and also because heck, that is a lot of social networking to keep on top of, don’t you say? Heck. Gosh.
