I like dresses.
Except when they make me tear up a little.
This yellow dress is yuckier than the Colorado Daily newspaper stand in the background.

This yellow dress has good potential, especially with the autumny vertical brown stripes. But it was executed all wrong.
Try to tell me this girl felt comfortable in this when she left the house.  I am cold just looking at her.
This skirt is simply too short to be an actual skirt, much less in October.
A better option? Turn the dress into a shirt and it will look more flattering. Put dark jeans on underneath.
Or balance out the long sleeves with tights on the bottom. Maybe some brown wool tights under some heeled boots or brown chunky Mary Janes.
A classic case of good purchase, bad execution.

Too tall to stand straight up.
He estimated it was 5-6 inches tall.

I always wondered who changed the signs in front of churches. This is perfect.

I got my poodle a Mohawk.
Even weirder than giving a poodle a Mohawk is the fact that the Paw Spa did not even flinch when I requested it.
They actually asked what color I would like to dye it.
I said pink. But apparently, my very manly red poodle wasn’t game for that.

One way to wear boots with your skirts: Add a fun above-the-boot sock.
Also adds a layer of warmth in the cold weather.

I have been fighting off buying skinny jeans for several years. I know I *should* wear them if I want to be *in.* I have been trying to work my way around it for so long (although I don’t recommend tucking regular-leg jeans into your boots unless you want it to look like you have huge swollen ankles).
I finally gave in last week when I found a cheap pair of black skinny jeans at Urban for $29.
I have been forcing myself to wear them nearly every day, thinking the more I see myself at a pointy triangular creature, the more I will be convinced that it looks attractive.
But really.
I know they’re “hip.” I know this dude on Pearl Street is dressed perfectly trendy. Red kicks. Tight jeans — that are colored, even. I know that flannel is hot again, although I still haven’t broken down and gone there, either.
It’s just…
Man legs.
Any kind of tight clothing on men really stresses me out. Maybe if I stare at it long enough, it’ll get hot.

My battle with skinny jeans continues. It’s not you. It’s me.

Here are a few tips to keep your boots kickin’. Courtesy of Boulder stylist, Rachael Donaldson.

* Use waterproof spray.
* Use equestrian straps to keep jeans tucked tightly into boots.
* Service your boots every year.
* Store them with boot forms so they don’t get a crease (get a good boot form at the Container Store).
